The Pegasus Horseshoe League would like to congratulate Casey Santos and Jake Duperre of Whole Lotta Pitches on winning the 2025 PHL Championship! After advancing through the postseason, Whole Lotta Pitches defeated Shoe-Ter McGavin, 3–1, in the Championship Finals to capture the title. Casey led the way in the Finals with 50 points and 14 ringers in four games, while Jake added 29 points to help secure the championship.
The matchup carried plenty of history for Casey and opposing captain Tom Wolfe. Casey originally brought Tom into the PHL in 2017, and just two years later the two teamed together to win the 2019 PHL Championship. They followed that with another strong playoff run in 2020 before falling short of a repeat. Their paths would later cross from opposite sides of the bracket, including in 2024, when Tom and Marc Rousseau defeated the favored team of Casey and Devin Santos, denying them a chance to win back-to-back championships.
In 2025, Casey and Tom once again found themselves competing with a championship on the line—but this time Whole Lotta Pitches came out on top. Casey finished the postseason with 110 points, 31 ringers and two doubles in nine games, leading all players in total playoff scoring, while Jake contributed 67 points during the championship run. Together, they helped Whole Lotta Pitches post a 7–2 playoff record on the way to the title.
The victory also marked a major moment in PHL history for Casey. Entering the 2025 season, he was tied with Gerry Santos, Dave Desnoyers and Wayne Gomes for the most championships in league history with three apiece. With the victory, Casey became the first player in PHL history to win four championships, breaking the four-way tie and moving into sole possession of first place on the league’s all-time championship list.
For Casey, the 2025 title added another chapter to a career filled with deep playoff runs and championship history. For Jake, it marked his place alongside him as a PHL Champion. Together, Whole Lotta Pitches closed out the 2025 season on top and earned their place in Pegasus Horseshoe League history.
